Description

Subaru is synonymous with making AWD vehicles that provide practicality and affordability and the Forester is no exception. The Forester debuted in 1997 for the 1998 model year to compete with the likes of the Honda CRV, Jeep Cherokee and the Ford Explorer. What set it apart was the fact that it sat a little lower to the ground making it closer to a wagon vs it’s competition. This led it to being the only vehicle in it’s class at the time that did not need to have a rollover warning sticker on the sun visor. It’s low risk of rollover has made it very popular in places with inclement weather as well as taking it off road.  This is the second generation Forester that came out for the 2002 model year. The 2.5 liter boxer 4 cylinder makes 170hp through a 5 speed manual. This Forester is featured in a TFLclassics video series, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaCFth-65wI

This Forester being sold at no reserve with a clean Colorado title. The sunroof is currently inoperable and is cracked. It has several scratches and chips in the paint. The carpet also has a few stains. It does come with newer and oversized all terrain tires with a slight lift. The hood and front bumper have been re-painted and looks good from a distance but close up, you can see that it doesn’t match perfectly. There was rust in the rear wheel wells that was repaired and that paint also does not match exactly but looks good from a distance. The headlights were also polished and look great.

Mechanically this Forester runs well. It starts, idles and runs how it should. It has a brand new main catalytic converter. the AC compressor was replaced with a rebuilt unit with a new belt as well as fresh charge so it now blows cold. The rear hatch handle was sticking so it was taken apart, lubricated and re-assembled and now works as it should.

The interior is overall in good shape. There are no cracks on the dash or interior plastics. It has an aftermarket radio with bluetooth that works well. There are a few stains in the carpet as well as the drivers seat.
