Description
Here is your chance to own the world’s fastest SUV in 1998. This is the one-year-only Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. These were based on the first-generation Grand Cherokee where they took the 5.9L V8 from the Dodge trucks, and shoehorned it into the much lighter Grand Cherokee. They only made about 14,000 of these so they are fairly rare. These put down 245hp and 345lb-ft of torque through a 46RE automatic transmission. They all came standard with a full-time 4×4 system.
This Jeep looks good cosmetically from a distance but is not perfect. It has some rust on the bottom of the rear hatch. The paint on the plastic pieces on the hood and rear of the car is chipped and faded. The rest of the paint does present well. The tires are in good shape. All of the glass is clear of cracks. The seats are in good shape as is the rest of the interior. The headliner around the rear speakers is sagging. It is also equipped with the rare dealer-installed side skirts.
Mechanically it runs well and starts every time but there are a few issues. The AC is currently not working but the heat does work. The blend door seems to be clicking and not functioning the way that it should. The information center screen was malfunctioning which is pretty common on these so it has been unplugged. Some recent work has been completed including new spark plugs, a new radiator cap, a new PCV Valve, and a few other odds and ends.
