This could be the best white elephant gift ever! Welcome to the 1992 Volvo 240. Volvo made the 200 series cars from 1974 all the way till 1993 and they are known to be one of the most reliable cars ever produced. This has a 2.3L inline 4 that put out 114hp when new. That engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

This Volvo was bought by Brendan at auction and had a few issues. First being the brakes, which have received new pads and rotors for the front wheels. The rear brakes have about 25% of life left in them. Also, the tie rod ends were bad and have since been replaced. The catalytic converter was also bad and was bypassed with the long tube exhaust that gives it a very unique look and sound. The rear tires were bad and were replaced with slightly wider ones along with an alignment. One of the brake lights was not working which was a wiring issue and has since been fixed. It also has a brand new battery.

There are a few issues with it currently. The water pump is currently leaking. The odometer has stopped working. The AC is not currently hooked up. The windows have either a bad fuse or an electrical issue that causes them to work intermittently. The paint is not great and has clear coat fading in a few areas but primarily on the trunk. It looks like it was at one point in an accident and has a mismatched hood and front grill area. It is missing a radio and speakers. It will likely not pass emissions because of the exhaust modification and would need to be returned to stock if you live in an area that requires that.

This otherwise seems to be a pretty solid and fun vehicle that turns heads wherever it goes.
